Counselling

Counselling at Sanctuary Counselling and Supervision is a reflective, collaborative space for people navigating difficulty, change, loss, or the quiet weight of living a demanding life. It's a careful, attentive space to make sense of your experience, find steadier ground, and move forward with greater clarity and purpose.

My Approach

My approach works in three layers

Orientation: Narrative

01

I'm interested in the stories you tell about yourself, about others, and about what's possible. These stories shape how we see ourselves and what we believe we can do. Part of the work of counselling is finding more spacious, truthful, and life-giving stories to live by.

Methods: evidence-based, selectively drawn

Where helpful, I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other practical, well-researched tools to address patterns of thinking and behaviour that have stopped serving you. These aren't applied formulaically — they're brought in when they fit.

Posture: trauma-informed and unhurried

03

Many people carry the effects of difficult or painful experiences they may not have named as trauma. The pace is always set by what each person needs, with care given to safety and respect. Nothing is rushed.

Who Counselling Is ForFo

Counselling at Sanctuary is well-suited to people who are:

Carrying significant responsibility and feeling the strain

Seeking support that is thoughtful, reflective, and faith-aware

Looking for a calm, unhurried space to think and process

Ready to work toward genuine change, not just symptom management

Sessions and Availability

Sessions are available in person in the Adelaide Hills and online throughout Australia. Session length, fees, and scheduling are discussed in our first conversation.

A Note on Scope

Sanctuary Counselling and Supervision isn't an emergency or crisis service. If you need urgent mental health support, please contact your local crisis or emergency service.

If at any point I believe another practitioner would be a better fit for what you're carrying, I'll say so and help you find one. That's part of how this work goes.

Let's begin with a conversation

A first conversation is a gentle starting point — a chance to explore what you're looking for, and whether this practice is the right fit for you.
