Couples
Couples counselling at Sanctuary is a thoughtful, structured space for two people who want to relate to each other better.
Some couples come wanting to address a specific issue. Others want to deepen connection, navigate a season of change, or build a stronger foundation for the future. Either way, the aim isn't just to solve the immediate problem — it's to help create healthier patterns of relating over time.
What Couples Counselling Can Help With
✔ Communication that's become difficult or strained
✔ Recurring patterns of conflict or misunderstanding
✔ Feeling disconnected or emotionally distant
✔ Stress, transition, parenting, grief, or pressure on the relationship
✔ Strengthening trust, understanding, and shared direction
✔ Preparing for marriage or investing intentionally in the relationship
My Approach
My approach treats the relationship itself as the focus of care. The work isn't about taking sides; it's about understanding the patterns, stories, and rhythms you've built together — and what's helping or hindering the connection you actually want.
In practice, this means creating a space where both people can be heard honestly, where what's happening beneath the surface can be named clearly, and where careful conversation can begin to shift patterns that have become stuck.
For couples who want it, I can work within a Christian and biblically informed framework — while staying attentive to the real relational, emotional, and practical dynamics of the relationship.
I am an accredited Prepare/Enrich facilitator.
Prepare/Enrich is a well-established relationship assessment and feedback tool that helps couples identify strengths, growth areas, and key patterns in the relationship. It's especially useful for couples who want a more structured process — whether you're preparing for marriage or strengthening a long-standing one.
Premarital preparation with Prepare/Enrich is also a service offered for couples preparing for marriage.
Through this process, couples can gain insight into areas such as:
✔ Communication
✔ Conflict resolution
✔ Emotional connection
✔ Family background and expectations
✔ Personality dynamics
✔ Shared values and goals
Where appropriate, I integrate Prepare/Enrich into couples work as a practical framework for deeper reflection and constructive growth.

Sessions and Availability
Couples counselling is available in person in the Adelaide Hills and online throughout Australia. Session length, fees, and scheduling are discussed in our first conversation.
A Note on Scope
Couples counselling works best when both people are willing and able to engage safely and honestly. If your situation includes active safety concerns or a current crisis, individual support may be the better starting point. The first conversation can help us figure out what's right for you.
If at any point I believe another counsellor would be a better fit for what you're carrying, I'll say so and help you find one. That's part of how this work goes.
Let's begin with a conversation
A first conversation is a gentle starting point — a chance to explore what you're looking for, and whether this practice is the right fit for you.
